Space and Space Rockets Talk (for kids)

This was a Professor Astro Cat talk I gave at the Vancouver Writers Festival in 2018 about space and space rockets. You can check out the Professor Astro Cat books here http://profastrocat.com illustrated by the amazing Ben Newman: http://www.bennewman.co.uk/ published by Flying Eye books: https://flyingeyebooks.com/

This talk was aimed elementary school kids and the audience was amazing! They were really engaged and afterwards I got so many questions. Please share this video with anyone who you think might enjoy it, school teachers or kids in your life.

I think that space is a really great way to get kids interested in science because it makes you think about the biggest questions like where did we come from and what is the universe made of? This is stuff that us grown ups wonder about too, and it shows that science doesn’t have the answers to everything but we are trying to solve these puzzles by looking out into the stars, finding clues and trying to put it all together, like a big detective story. I think this wonder and puzzling things out gets missed in school education sometimes. And I like telling the kids of today that if they have any good ideas about how to solve these puzzles they should go and try them out and see if they work. In the end, they will be the ones solving them in the future.
